Jaw Pain (TMJ) Treatment Cork City

Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction or TMJ may be caused or will cause a mechanical dysfunction to the cervical spine or neck vertebrae.  It is not simply a mouth or jaw issue.  The neck must always be evaluated in cases of jaw pain or TMJ as it is very difficult to help one without the other.  I am a structural Osteopath who will assess the movement and function of the neck along with the mechanical ability of the mastication (chewing) muscles.  On assessment if I find that there is an issue to correct I will treat accordingly.  Every patient is different and once pain has reduced I will be able to prescribe exercises to help alleviate the pain for longer.
