WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Osteopathy is a form of drug-free, non-invasive hands-on therapy, that focuses on total body health. It treats and strengthens the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.

The therapy is a unique holistic (whole body) approach to health care. Osteopaths do not simply concentrate on treating the problem area, but look at the body as a whole. Using manual techniques like massage, dry needling, muscle energy techniques and joint manipulations when necessary to balance all the systems of the body. This provide overall good health and well-being.

When treating newborns, the treatment is much gentler and facilitates the language and understanding of the age of the patient.

As well as treating the musculoskeletal structures of the Musculo-skeletal system, osteopathy can address symptoms stemming from the Central Nervous System (Brain- Body connection) and the Digestive Tract. (eg: IBS or Diverticulitis or Digestive problems in adults and the newborn)
